You can trek to see either mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park.

Yes. Gorilla trekking permits cost $1,500 per person, while golden monkey permits are $100 per person. These are included in your package if booked in advance.

Trekking can take 2–6 hours depending on the primate location. A moderate level of fitness is required, but porters are available to assist.

The dry seasons (June–September and December–February) are best for trekking, though tours run year-round.

You are allowed one magical hour observing gorillas and golden monkeys once located.

The minimum age is 15 years for gorilla trekking and 12 years for golden monkey trekking.
